Halloween

Halloween is coming!  We finally got around to carving our pumpkins tonight!  What a process that is...lol!  The 13 year old with a knife... well ok... but the 7 year old???  AHHHH!  Mr. Independence himself was convinced he could do it on his own.  No way!  I was envisioning a trip to the emergency department.  NOT something I want to do!
Thankfully dad convinced the boy that he needed help!  Phew!
After dad took over with the knife, the boy got bored.... grabbed the camera and just started taking shots.  What am interesting sight it is to watch a 7 year old wander about with the camera...lol!  It ought to be interesting when I upload these photos!
Now the kids are extremely excited... 2 more sleeps till Halloween!  Their costumes are ready... all laid out.
I love watching how excited kids get over holidays!
As soon as Halloween is over, all the stores will make the miraculous overnight transition to CHRISTMAS!
Isn't it always amazing be in a store all decorated with Halloween October 31st, then November 1st all the Christmas decorations are out?  How does that happen exactly?!
2 months to go!  Christmas!  Then, before we know it... a brand new year!  WOW!

Thank Goodness I Work From Home!

Working from home is such a GREAT thing!

Very odd things can happen.  Take this morning for example.  It's a beautiful day, I am making a call from the deck.  Sitting up there enjoying the sunshine!  Yes... SUNSHINE!  The rain has stopped... for now anyway!

I am looking out at the river as I sit enjoying the sunshine, talking on the phone and drinking my tea.  I all of a sudden hear tree branches cracking... almost like a dog is walking through the forest.  I walk over to the deck railing to see a guy walking along my embankment.  Where did he come from?  Where is he going?  This isn't public access.  There aren't any paths down the river... none that are public anyway!

I call out to ask if I can help him.  He is shocked.  He says he's just trying to find a way out.  Huh.  But how did he get down there??  He wouldn't answer my question.  Instead, he turned and ran up the side of my embankment, through my front yard and disappeared.

So, if I hadn't been home... what would have happened?  Maybe innocent... many not.

Each day, there is always a reason to be so thankful that I work from home!!!

Law of Attraction

Do you dream about your future?  Do you find yourself saying things like, "Things will get better." "One day we'll have that."  "I want to ________."

What are you doing to get to that place?  When you look at the future, where do you see yourself?  In 2 years?  In 5 years?  in 10 years?

We need to visualize it.  Make it reality.  Feel it.  See it.

The Law of Attraction is very powerful.  I didn't believe it for a really long time.  Watch The Secret... watch it again and again.  It's amazing how your thoughts really do become things.

Someone told me once to create a visual board.  To actually cut out pictures of what I want... how I see my life... and glue those pictures on a big sheet of paper.  To look at that board daily.  To feel it.  To live it.

I thought they were insane.  I just couldn't see how a visual board would change my life.

You know what?  It works!

Do we really have anything to lose?  Sure, we might feel silly doing it... but, as the saying goes, "Continue to do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got"

We have nothing to lose!

Thanksgiving Is Coming!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner for us in Canada. A time we can reflect. Think of all the things we are thankful for. At least that's what we teach our kids, right?

But what about us adults? Do we ever really take a moment and live IN THAT MOMENT? Really think about what we are thankful for?

Close your eyes for a moment. Breathe in your surroundings. We all get so caught up in the events of our daily lives. Why is that? How did that happen? When did we start worrying about every little issue? I suppose it was when we became responsible adults...lol!

I am thankful for my kids... they keep me grounded. Thankful for my busienss which has allowed me to not only work from home, but to also meet some pretty fantastic people. I am thankful for my friends... they keep me sane... without them I would have been committed long ago!

Each day, as a family we dream together... but with my business, my team are living our dreams.
