Honeymoon Phase?

Oh the honeymoon phase.  We're all familiar with it.  A new relationship starts and it's just so wonderful, everything you've always dreamed of.  You can't imagine how you've lived to this point without this special person in your life.  For the lucky ones, this phase lasts many, many years.

But.... let's switch gears.  There is also a honeymoon phase with really everything.  You buy a new home... there's the initial excitement of moving in, unpacking, getting everything just how you want.  Eventually though that honeymoon phase comes to an end.  It all becomes habitual and normalcy sets in.  The daily routines of cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc... Every now and again we'll update something or do some renovations and for a brief time, that honeymoon phase feeling may just come back.
Now, what about starting a new job.  Think about it.  You work hard to get the job... the application process, the interviews and then the wait to see if you are the one who takes the position.  Your first day there's that feeling of nervous excitement.  You go through your training, you start working.... then day in and day out you go off to that job... and before you know it.... you're bored.  You just do what you have to do.

Maybe one day you think about how incredible it would be to be able to work from home.  Be your own boss.  Have no one to answer to.  You start looking online to find so many different options.  You get so excited about the possibilities.  The person telling you about the company is sharing all the amazing details with you.  You start dreaming of an amazing future.  You are excited again.  Look at that, here comes the honeymoon phase again!

We really do live on quite the rollercoaster ride.  The highs, the lows....

How long did the honeymoon phase last once you started your working from home venture?  Did it last until you realized how hard it really was going to be to earn any money?  Did it last until you realized you'd spent a ton of money you really didn't have to spend?

The harsh reality of working from home is this... most people jump in without really doing enough research.  They buy into the dream without asking the questions that need to be asked.

Don't get sucked in.  We're taught from a very young age to NOT believe everything we read or see on TV.  The same rules apply to starting your venture of working from home.  It's up to you to get as much information as you possibly can.

You wouldn't buy a home without an inspection, would you?  Would you buy a car without test driving it?  Do you try clothes on before trying them on?

People spend more time planning their vacation then they do planning their futures.  Scary, isn't it?

You owe it to yourself to get the facts.  Believe it or not, there are legitimate companies out there.  Companies where real people are making real money.  Companies who have won many awards.  Ask to see the income statistics... this is something that must be provided... if the company is legit.  Don't take anyone's word for it.  That would be like the realtor saying... oh don't worry, that water on the basement floor is from me spilling my drink earlier.
